Ireland has produced 4 Nobel laureates all of whom have derived inspiration from Dublin Pub culture. In the company of 2 character actors, participants are lead to 3 such pubs where extracts from the work of Behan, Yeats, Joyce, Shaw, Beckett and Wilde are amusingly performed. Guests are free to ask questions and chat to the actors who will remain in character at all times. Throughout the tour a literary quiz will take place whereby the actors will ask the guests certain information which they have already given the answer to during the course of the tour. Prizes will be awarded to the deserving!
Price per person €50, which includes a drink at each pub visited.
Delegates to meet at the Duke Pub on Duke Street at 18.30.
The Irish House Party
For anyone interested in a night of authentic Irish music and dancing, this is one party you really shouldn’t miss. Consistently voted as one of the top ten things to do in Dublin, this modern-day renaissance brings together the best in traditional Irish entertainment, with many of the performers all-Ireland champions in their chosen field.
A three course meal, with a choice of delicious Irish dishes, kicks off proceedings. Then guests are given a songbook and taught a number in the Irish language, while rookie Riverdancers also get the chance to learn some Irish dancing steps. More reserved types, meanwhile, can simply sit back and enjoy the show. And when you finally return home, you can amaze friends and family with your local knowledge and hidden talents… what a great souvenir.
Price per person €45, which includes three course meal.
